ARTWORK
We try to make ordering promotional products from Mark K Inc. a simple and comfortable process. Meeting our customer's deadlines and budget restrictions are everyday occurences for us. Our challenge is to reproduce your logo or graphics in the best quality possible. To do this we need good art.
High quality art is necessary to produce your custom imprint. Today's printing technology requires that your art be created in an electronic format using graphics software such as Adobe Illustrator. Graphics should be provided in a vector format for PC, preferrably EPS (Encapsulated Post Script) or AI with fonts converted to lines. Vector formatted art is comprised of mathematically calculated lines that allow for infinite scaleability. This means your copy will remain sharp and clear; no matter how big or small we make it.
The person who created your logo or your printer should be able to provide it in the format we need. Just e-mail it to: mark@mark-k-inc.com.
We can convert your graphics to an acceptable electronic format if you do not have it. Just send us the best images you have (letterhead, newspaper ad, or brochure) and we'll do the rest. We will quote the cost before converting your logo to an electronic format. Remember, once your logo is in this format you should not have to pay to have it done again.
Not all electronic artwork is acceptable. Raster artwork is NOT acceptable. It is comprised of square dots called pixels. Raster images work well and are preferred for internet applications where only 72 DPI resolution is required. These low resolution images will always look "jagged" or rough, resulting in poor printing. Common files that are raster in format are: scanned images, word processing documents, Photoshop, JPG, PICT, BMP, GIF, PIXAR, PCX, TIFF, PNG, TARGA, and others.
PROOFS
Once we receive your artwork a proof for your approval will be sent to you. Proofs are important to assure that your copy is printed accurately and with high quality reproduction. At an average cost of $5.00, proofs are a bargain. Production of your order will not begin until we receive your approval.
PREPARATION CHARGES
Most new orders will incur a set-up or preparation charge. Your imprint is unique. Therefore, a screen, plate, mold, die or template will have to be created to print your message on the product. This charge covers the cost of the tooling and gives you exclusive rights to its use. However, you do not own the physical dies, plates, screens, molds or templates used to create your order. This tooling is typically maintained for 18-24 months after your order is produced. Reorders within this time period will not incur a new preparation charge.
EXACT QUANTITY ORDERS
We cannot guarantee that the exact quantity you order will be delivered. Stringent quality control standards in the printing process may cause you to receive 5% fewer or 5% more pieces than you order. You will be charged for the quantity you receive. If you must have an exact quantity we recommend that you order a few more. This is standard practice within the promotional products industry.
FREIGHT CHARGES
Shipping costs will be added to your invoice. Most orders ship via UPS Standard Ground Service. If your order requires expediting to meet your deadline you may have additional rush and freight costs. You will be notified if this will apply to your order.
TERMS OF SALE
If you enjoy open credit status, you will not be invoiced until your merchandise has been received. Our terms are net 30 days. If you are a new customer without established credit you must provide MasterCard or Visa information at the time you place your order.
